Head Coaches


 

14U AAA - Chris Joseph

The Titans Hockey Union are proud to welcome former Edmonton Oilers NHL player and longtime St. Albert resident Chris Joseph as Head Coach of the 14U AAA team.

Chris brings elite-level playing experience and a deep understanding of high-performance development to the program. In addition to his on-ice role, he joins the Titans’ leadership and management group as the organization continues to establish itself as St. Albert’s only academy offering high-level hockey development alongside academics.

Chris recently guided his team to the 2025 15U League Championship, further demonstrating his ability to lead competitive, disciplined teams and develop players for the next stage of their hockey journey.

 

15U AAA - Brad Bourke

Brad Bourke, hailing from Onoway, brings extensive playing and coaching experience to our program. His hockey journey began in Spruce Grove and St. Albert, where he played minor hockey before advancing to the junior ranks in both Alberta and British Columbia.

Brad enjoyed a highly successful playing career, earning recognition as a 4-Time All-Conference Athlete, League Rookie of the Year, University Rookie of the Year, and ACAC League Champion. He went on to play two seasons of minor professional hockey before transitioning into coaching.

Brad joined a U18 AAA coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2018 and assumed the head coaching role in 2020. Known for his passion for the game and strong understanding of player development, Brad is committed to building competitive, disciplined teams while preparing athletes for the next level.

 

17U AAA - Mat Knoll

Mat Knoll brings a strong blend of high-level playing experience and long-term athlete development to the program. He began his hockey career with Knights of Columbus before advancing to the junior ranks and committing to NCAA Division I hockey at Minnesota State University-Mankato.

Mat steps into the head coaching role after serving as an assistant coach for the 17U AAA team the previous two seasons.

In addition to coaching for our program, Mat is a teacher and hockey instructor within the St. Albert Public School District. Mat is deeply committed to mentoring young athletes both on and off the ice.

 

18U AAA - Garrett Meger

Garrett Meger is a Chartered Professional Coach with the Coaching Association of Canada, bringing a high-performance, development-driven approach to elite hockey. He emphasizes accountability, hockey IQ, and professional habits that prepare athletes for the next level.

Garrett has led teams to multiple championship titles, including the 2025 18U Winter and League Championships and the 2023 15U Winter and League Championships. His coaching philosophy centers on purposeful practice design, leadership development, and creating competitive environments where athletes are challenged to grow individually while contributing to team success.

Garrett is committed to helping players reach their potential both on and off the ice.
